2019 ASCE Arthur Elliot Bridge Award Winner​

With over 35 years of experience, Bob Morrison, Jr., S.E., founder and owner of the firm, fulfills bridge engineering, structural engineering, and project management responsibilities. Mr. Morrison has been responsible for the structural engineering for over 75 bridge projects in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Arizona, and many commercial, institutional, industrial, and hydraulic structures around the U.S.. Bob was the construction engineering project manager for the $23M Turtle Bay Sundial Pedestrian Bridge in Redding, designed by Santiago Calatrava. He is also the Structural Engineer of Record for the Cascade Theatre Rehabilitation project in the City of Redding.

Mr. Morrison has lead the seismic retrofit designs for several major California viaducts and bridges and was lead engineer during seismic prioritization of over 2,600 bridges for the Oregon Department of Transportation.  His experience also includes the construction management of bridge and roadway construction projects, construction cost estimating, and extensive linear and nonlinear dynamic analysis of structures with respect to seismic response and ductility.


 DEAN ROESNER,CIVIL ENGINEER


Dean Roesner is a licensed civil engineer  with a Master of Engineering degree from CSU Sacramento (2000).   Dean has prepared structure plans, specifications or estimates for over 20 bridges over the past six years with Morrison Structures.  Dean also was the assistant Resident Engineer and provided a variety of element designs and construction observation during the construction of the Turtle Bay Sundial Bridge project in Redding.  Dean has extensive construction experience. 

Prior to becoming a professional engineer, he obtained his degree in Civil Engineering and spent 23 years as a General Contractor and owner of his construction company where he dealt with Public Works, Planning and Building departments at the City of Redding, and Counties of Shasta, Tehama and Modoc.  Dean was a design engineer for several building type structures recently constructed here in the Redding area including the McConnell Foundation Maintenance Building on Lema Road and the Cascade Theatre Rehabilitation/Improvement project. 



 JANET GALLINO, CAD TECHNICIAN / ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT


As a member of the Morrison Structures Inc. team, Janet utilizes MicroStation V8 to draft the structural components and details of a wide range of projects including bridges, retaining walls, commercial and residential buildings.   Janet is also responsible for managing, organizing, scheduling and maintaining information for the company's employees.

SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER/ DESIGN QUALITY CONTROL

Bob Morrison Sr. assists Morrison Structures on a part-time basis with special projects. He is available to assist with preliminary criteria, structural design, and review of structure designs for constructability and quality control. Bob has more than 40 years of experience in the design of civil and structural elements of major public works, commercial, and industrial projects throughout the U.S. and the world. During Mr. Morrison’s 40 years of experience, he has participated in numerous projects as project manager, design manager, lead structural engineer, structural designer, and providing structural supervision and review to assure quality.

Prior to working with Morrison Structures, Bob spent 35 years with the firm of CH2M HILL and was CH2M HILL’s firm wide Structural Engineering Technology Leader where he had overall responsibilities for ensuring technical excellence for structural engineering services. His responsibilities included; setting the firm’s standard structural engineering practice, oversight of structural quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), developing structural engineering tools and procedures, recruiting and hiring of senior staff, developing and facilitating training programs, and assisting with marketing of structural engineering services.



CHINA ROSE MORRISON, OFFICE MANAGER


China Rose Morrison is a 2004 Graduate of Humboldt State University and a 2010 Graduate of National University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a Human Resources emphasis.  China  provides comprehensive support to the  Morrison Structures team.  She works closely with the owner/president to meet the company’s staffing, equipment, and organizational needs.
